The Mill of Benholm is a water-powered historic mill in a beautiful and peaceful setting.

The ‘Mill of Benholm Enterprise (SCIO)’ is the charity safeguarding the Mill of Benholm for generations to come by using the site sustainable as a community hub and community garden, but also developing the Mill into a visitor attraction.

The Mill of Benholm is situated within the conservation area of Benholm near the coastal village of Johnshaven, Aberdeenshire. A restoration of the Mill was completed in 1995 and since then the site has been utilised by many local groups for various activities but sadly closed since 2014. Mill of Benholm Enterprise (SCIO) are committed to finding an economically viable future for the Mill to safeguard it for the good of the community.

The mill buildings are not only Category A listed, but also described by Historic Environment Scotland as ‘an exceptional and rare survival’.

The Mill of Benholm comprises of the mill with the waterwheel and kiln, the former miller’s house and byre, a mill pond all in a beautiful and peaceful setting with approx. 7 acres of land, orchards and gardens. The ancient Mill Brae Woods are separated from the mill complex by the Burn of Benholm.
